LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR
Sheldon Larry’s audacious and big-hearted musical with songs by Beyoncé music director
Kim Burse and choregraphy by Beyoncé dance master Frank Gatson Jr. Have you been
looking for a sizzling mix of PARIS IS BURNING , RENT , and DREAMGIRLS ? This film
delivers it as it takes us into the fabulously funky world of voguing (the ball-scene
was the inspiration for Madonna’s song “Vogue”). Here the setting is contemporary
downtown L.A. Our hunky, homeless hero Brad, discarded by his homophobic mom, falls
in with the members of The House of Eminence, ruled by the stern aging diva Queef
Latina, who keeps a careful, loving watch over her makeshift family of runaways
and throwaways. When two of her crew fall for Brad, the Queef is royally unamused.
High flying and low down, LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR is a one of a kind celebration—a
gay African American musical about finding your true family. With eleven original
songs it also features a song by Beyonce, and a surprise performance by the amazing
artist Ledisi.

CYCLICITY
Two girls on a Ferris Wheel, appearing unknown to each other. As the wheel turns
they begin to discuss its symbolism and how the ride reflects the cyclicity of romantic
relationships: the initial excitement, the climactic peak, the inevitable decline,
and the painful final goodbyes. As the couple part ways, do they share their first
kiss or their last kiss? A striking debut film by Jason Knade. |

WISH ME AWAY
The story about award-winning country music artist, Chely Wright. The Academy of
Country Music (ACM) named her Top New Female Vocalist in 1995. Wright's first Top
40 country hit came in 1997 with “Shut Up and Drive”. Two years later, her fourth
album yielded the number one single title track, “Single White Female”. Overall,
Wright has released seven studio albums on various labels, and has charted more
than fifteen singles on the country charts. Chely seemed to have it all but felt
like she was living a lie. While her dreams of stardom came true, she remained tormented
by her sexuality and paralyzed by the fear of coming out. After years of denial,
she decided to finally do what no one else has done: become the first major country
music singer to come out of the closet as gay. A penetrating documentary that looks
at an artist about to make a life changing announcement. This touching portrait
follows Wright as she discovers the transformational power of living an authentic
life.

GUN HILL ROAD
Writer/director Rashaad Ernesto Green’s first feature film is an intricate portrait
of a family divided told with sensitivity, gentle humor, and a deep understanding
of the environment that shapes its people. After three years in prison, macho Enrique
played by Esai Morales (Caprica, NYPD Blue, Bad Boys) returns to the Bronx to find
the world he once knew has turned upside down. His wife Angela played by Judy Reyes
(Scrubs, OZ) struggles to hide an emotional affair, and his teenage son, Michael
played by newcomer Harmony Santana, explores a sexual transformation well beyond
Enrique’s grasp and understanding. Unable to accept his child, Enrique clings to
his masculine ideals while Angela attempts to hold the family together by protecting
Michael. Still under the watchful eye of his parole officer ( Isiah Whitlock, Jr),
Enrique must become the father he needs to be or, once again, risk losing his family
and freedom.
An official selection of this year’s Sundance Film Festival it has won numerous
LGBT Audience Awards and Best Acting Awards. |
