Organized in 2008, The Savannah Gay & Lesbian Film Society (SGLFS) is sponsored and formed under First City Network (FCN) in collaboration with Reel Woman Productions. FCN is the oldest gay and lesbian organization in the state of Georgia and is a registered 501c3 tax exempt organization whose mailing address is P O Box 2442, Savannah, GA 31401-2442. Reel Woman Productions is responsible for discovering and acquiring our event films.
The Savannah Gay & Lesbian Film Society presents cinematic works by some of the best LGBT filmmakers from around the world through an ongoing Film Series that screens quarterly and the upcoming Savannah LGBT Film Festival. Films and videos programmed in our Series and Festival have come from Australia, Canada, Iceland, Ireland, Korea, Sweden, the UK and of course, the USA. Utilizing comedy, drama, documentary, musical and animation formats, SGLFS delivers fun and thought-provoking films to Savannah that document and celebrate LGBT lives. Many of the short and feature length films presented by The Savannah Gay & Lesbian Film Society have won global audience and or film-making awards.
